Spent
much of the day with my new white board working out a fairly detailed
map of the Union and surrounding space. I shot a picture of it with my
camera phone and it came looking pretty good. Coreward is at the top,
rimward at the bottom, spinward is to
the left and anti-spinward to the right. The approximate border of the
Orion Cygnus arm of the galaxy is just below the top of the board and
just above the bottom. The Rendezvous point marked is the rendezvous at
the end of Book II. I reserve the right to refine this significantly
as we write.
The picture is offset in order to get the glare from the flash off of one of the most critical parts of the sketch.
Obviously, it's a good thing that the books are selling as I would clearly starve to death as a stellar cartographer.

I misspelled "quarantine." It has been corrected. I'm going to make a few minor changes based on my gaming out the strategy in Book III. The new map will go up in a few days.
Several small changes made over the past few days as we gamed out the events of "Brothers in Valor." We'll post a shot of the adjusted map shortly.
Sorta minor nit picking; on your whiteboard, you spell the Vaaach space 'Vaach".
Loved the books, Hurry up on number 3. And i look forward to the next series as well.
I will post a review on Amazon as well.

Whiskey--corrected long ago, along with dozens of other changes. Which is why we do this on a white board instead of paper. We spent weeks making adjustments, large and small, then copied it onto tracing paper (that map is tacked to a metal bookshelf with magnets), erased the board, and moved on. Thanks in advance for the review. I'll post the map after I make a few more decisions about the location of some points on it.
